It’s heeeerrrrreeeeee (said in my best Oprah impression)!!!
It all started with the Spicy Teriyaki Sauce. Then there as the Teriyaki Cauliflower Lettuce Wraps. And now, there’s this incredibly easy Oven Baked Teriyaki Salmon recipe.
Life could not be better.
This recipe is basically what’s gotten me through this month of January. You know, the January that has been approximately 82 weeks long and there’s not quite an end in sight yet. Yeah, that one.
So until the end does come (and likely long after it does), I’m making it on repeat because weeknights demand quick recipes.
Healthy (ish) ones too.
Balance. Balance. Balance.

Let’s dive in and see what this healthy kind-of-one-pan dinner is all about, shall we? And when I say one pan, I mean the salmon part, because you already have a jar of the homemade teriyaki sauce in your fridge. I know it.
And if you don’t, please start stocking your fridge with it immediately. It, too, is such a breeze to make and having it on hand means quick and easy dinners (ahem, including those lettuce wraps, too, my friends!).
P.S. the whole one pan business doesn’t exactly include your sides either (like rice, or a veggie)…so I’m calling it my kind-of-one-pan because who knows which route your dinner will take.
Onto it!
How to Make Teriyaki Salmon
You have to start with homemade teriyaki. Could you use store-bought? Of course. I understand being in a time crunch and whatnot.
But do keep in mind, that making it from scratch is so dang easy and will take you less than 10 minutes (even less if you use pre-grated garlic and ginger!).

So grab all the ingredients, whisk ’em together, simmer, and your sauce is ready. Check out this recipe post for the full how-to on the teriyaki sauce.
Now, what we’re here for. The salmon. THIS easy teriyaki salmon recipe, to be exact.
- Use high-quality salmon filets. It’s important to know where your fish comes from, and how it’s caught. I recommend wild when you can, or sustainability farmed as an alternative.

2. Lightly oil a baking dish for good measure. Smother your salmon in teriyaki sauce and then you have one of two options once the sauce is over the salmon:
- If you’re in a hurry, go ahead and bake it immediately, reserving some of the sauce to brush on when it’s done baking, or…
- Let the salmon marinate for 10-20 minutes (however much time you have, really) to allow the flavors to soak in.
I still recommend reserving some sauce to brush on before you eat it. I’m all about being saucy though.

Once your salmon is slathered (ok, ok, I’ll pause the alliteration for now) place the baking dish in the oven for approximately 12-15 minutes.
The cook time is going to depend on your salmon thickness. And the type of salmon, because fattier salmon filets do have a little more wiggle room in timing before drying out.
I’d recommend checking the doneness around 10-12 minutes and going from there. You want the centers to be cooked through to a light pink color without any dark pink/red spots that are raw.
Once the salmon is done, top with a little extra teriyaki sauce as desired, some green onions, sesame seeds, and cilantro for added flavor, and you’re ready to dig in!

What to Serve with Easy Teriyaki Salmon
The eternal question: what goes with this?
Happy to report that it’s completely customizable to your tastes. Obviously so many Asian flavors will go along with it, but simple (and time saver) sides include rice and a green veggie.
I love serving broccolini or green beans with the salmon. Snap peas (er, snow peas, either one) would be a great addition, too. Or how about some sauteed baby bok choy?
A veggie-packed salad would be a great side – one that’s loaded with light Asian flavors to balance out the teriyaki. Like a shaved brussels sprout salad or a cilantro salad.
